Staff Profiles
David McDougall: Vicar
David is married to Kim and their family includes Nicol (20) Jamie (18) and Arran (15).
He has been ordained for 23 years: trained at Ridley Hall Cambridge, Curacy at St Mary’s Bletchley, Curacy at St Andrew’s High Wycombe, Associate Vicar of St Stephens Twickenham and now Vicar here since planting the church in 2002.
David is one of the Archbishops College of Evangelists and an Associate Evangelist of J John’s Philo Trust.
David is on the European Board for WATOTO and is a SOMA Mission Team Leader.
His priorities are his family, mission and the building of real community.
He also loves curry, gardening and travelling!
Tim Rose: Curate & Morning Congregation Leader
Tim has been a member of St Saviour’s for years. He used to sit in the pews on a Sunday listening to other people. Now other people sit in the comfy chairs listening to him! He splits his time between working at the church and studying at St Mellitus College in Central London.
Tim is married to Emma, who, along with their son Jacob, puts up with his fervent supporting of Watford Town FC! When asked what else he is a fan of, Tim will answer ‘Food” (just as long as it isn’t fish!)
Tim heads up Life Groups at St Saviour’s.
Paul Oxley: Curate & Evening Congregation Leader
Paul and his wife Laura have recently moved to Sunbury from the west country. Having got over the contrast between the buses and the tractors, he has settled into curacy at St Saviour’s and has taken on responsibility for a few areas of church life.
Before being employed by the church, Paul spent time teaching PE and working for a family bereavement charity. During his time at the charity he got to appear on Radio 1, and also fulfilled the lifelong ambition of featuring in Women’s Own magazine!
When not at the office, Paul enjoys playing, watching, or talking about sport, or pretending to be a character in the West Wing.
Claire Clarke: Assistant Pastor in Training with Responsibility for Worship
Claire is married to Carlos and they have two young children, who both have more energy than npower!
Claire is passionate about music, prayer and worship. She oversees the worship teams in the church, and is responsible for Sunday services. Her goal is to glorify God and also to facilitate other people being able to meet with, and worship God.
Claire has a famously sweet tooth. She can make incredible chocolate brownies, and loves drinking Ribena all day long. She has also been known to eat Jaffa cakes for breakfast. Sshhh, don’t tell the kids!
Becky Quinell: Children’s Worker
Becky oversees all children’s work at St Saviour’s.
Finishing school after A-levels she went to work with children and young people. Taking a break after getting married, Becky got a dream job working for Krispy Kreme doughnuts – yum yum yum!
She is passionate about having fun with children while teaching them to be fully active disciples of Jesus.
In her spare time, she likes to watch movies, play games and go for walks. A great evening would be a few friends sharing food and playing monopoly.
Naomi Zumpe: Ministry amongst Seniors
Before retiring, Naomi taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics. That though was a walk in the park compared to all that she manages now.
As well as running the ministry to Seniors in Sunbury, Naomi and her husband Herman enjoy looking after their granddaughter as well as visiting new places and doing things they had never thought of doing before!
Naomi enjoys meeting up with friends for meals at various pubs as well as reading, listening to music, walking, swimming and going to line dancing.
Lorraine Haysom: Office Manager
Lorraine has been attending St Saviours longer then the Vicar has!
She is married to Anthony and having two boys at home, she has plenty of practice at organizing things, which comes in handy in the office!
Lorraine manages the office, and is the friendly face that will greet you when you visit the centre.
In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit, especially by going to aerobics classes
Anna Evans – Community Involvement Director
Anna heads up everything at the church connected to the Centre, including
courses, and the developing work amongst those with needs in the local community. She is also a key leader of the Eve team, and makes sure that newcomers into the church soon find their way into full involvement. Chances are that you have met Anna if you have been to any special events at the church…she was the one who made the incredible chocolate nibbles!
Anna enjoys being creative, having a laugh with the ladies, shopping for shoes, and drinking fresh coffee. She is married to Ben, who also likes coffee…and shopping for shoes (luckily!)
Jane Trevithick – Youthwork Facilitator
Jane oversees the youth teams and all youth work in the church. She
does more youthwork each week while ferrying various teenagers around the area than most people do in a life-time!
When not in the office, or the home computer, or driving the taxi (which has pink flowers stuck to the side of it) you will find Jane wake-boarding round local lakes and seeking adrenaline fuelled fun on the water.
She drinks all sorts of silly flavoured teas, which is bad…but is married to Guy and is mum to James and Katy, which is good!
Val Mitchell – Pastoral Care
Val is the nicest, most lovely person we know, so we asked her to head up
Pastoral Care for the church! She and her team are brilliant at helping people though problems, issues, difficulties and crisis moments.
Val is also one of the church wardens so makes sure that everything is running ship-shape around here. Speaking of ship-shape…she enjoys boating holidays and is gearing up to be the mother of the bride soon.
Val is married to Les.
